Private lessons in agility and herding (ongoing). Occasionally, Creekside Farm hosts sheepherding clinics, agility seminars, puppy reunions and camps. Browse through the information below to see what's coming up and what events we've hosted in the past. Scroll down for a description of our facilities. Go to CONTACT page for directions. |
Herding Facilities: Creekside Farm has a small flock of Border Cheviot sheep and several areas to practice everything from outruns to holding pressure, working corners, penning skills and day to day farm work. NOTE FOR 2011: We don't have our puppy sheep this year, so herding lessons available to started dogs only. |

Agility Training Facilities: Creekside Farm has a fully fenced 60 x 100ft training field, plenty big enough to run small or tight courses and many sequences. Our equipment is safely constructed to USDAA &/or AAC specifications, and we have many training pieces specifically for puppies and beginner dogs. |

Hiking / Walking: Enjoy short or long hiking loops right from our back yard! Hike for 15 minutes or 3 hours! There are also several trails which can be reached within a short drive if you are so inclined. Early morning group hikes on the trails are usually a big part of camps and seminars. Or you can explore the fields and creeks on your own! We have no ticks here - so you can walk your dog with peace of mind knowing they are not at risk of Tick Born Diseases. |

Camping*: Tenters and RVs (no hookups) may park in our field with access to an indoor bathroom (powder room, no shower). Additional camping may be available (minimal donation) around the corner at the Piggery Theatre (depending on time of year) offering indoor bathrooms, hot showers, and fridge / kitchenette. Crating: We have lots of trees for shady places to tie out or crate your dog when not working. In inclement weather, the hayloft provides dry and comfortable crating areas. Meals: Home cooked meals prepared with great ingredients, such as farm raised eggs and lamb, grain fed chicken and beef...Don't worry, we also cater to our Vegetarian participants! Meals served on the deck and screened in porch. *Not always available. |
Returning in 2012 (dates TBD): Clinics and lessons with Kevin Evans (2008 Int'l Supreme Ch., 2011 Welsh National Cahmpion). Kevin returns to Creekside in 2012 for his fourth much anticipated visit. We plan on several days of clinics and private lessons.Kevin is a talented trainer AND teacher. Don't miss out! Check back often for updates! CLINICS WILL BE STRICTLY LIMITED TO 8 PARTICIPANTS. |
Returning in 2012 (dates TBD): Agility clinics and lessons with Jenny Damm (Team Sweden - 2010 Large Dog FCI Gold Medalists, 2011 Swedish Champion). Jenny's August 2011 seminars were so successful, we couldn't wait to invite her back for next year! We plan on more days, and will have at least 2 days of International handling (for World Team competitors/applicants), Masters and Intermediate seminars as well as the possibility of a foundation seminar for speed, motivation, contacts, weaves etc. We will also plan on at least one full day of private lessons. Stay tuned for more information. CLINICS WILL BE STRICTLY LIMITED TO 8 PARTICIPANTS. For more on Jenny, please visit Jenny Damm's website. Or, click on the picture below to watch some of Jenny and Ina's runs at the 2010 FCI World Championships. |

Herding: Whether you are interested in seeing if your Border Collie has "the instinct" or whether you are training for competition or farm work, private lessons on teaching your dog how to work sheep are available by appointment. NOTE: Due to field renovations and lack of suitable puppy sheep in 2011, "well-started" Border Collies are accepted for training only at this time. We have no experience with the other breeds so feel unqualified to take them for training. |
Lessons with Fiona (by appointment) in agility and herding will resume in the spring of 2012. |
Agility: A fun sport open to all breeds and mixes, agility teaches your dog to run through tunnels, jump over and scale obstacles and weave through poles. Whether you are looking to try agility with your dog just for fun or whether your goals are National level competition, the proper foundation training makes all the difference! We have teaching experience with many types of dogs and handlers - not just Border Collies! |
Please contact us for more information or to book a lesson. NOTE: Lessons are given in English. |
